Air-conditioning enquiry guide

Sketch your property and rooms into a short brief

Start with the rooms and how you use them. Choose the spaces you are considering, describe any existing equipment and add the practical details. Your selections become a short property brief to discuss with Flowforge.

A clearer picture of your property

Room use, size, access and the position of existing equipment all help explain an air-conditioning enquiry. Gather what you know rather than trying to choose equipment or plan an installation yourself.

Use the room sketch to organise your observations, then discuss your property and requested work directly with Flowforge. Suitability, scope and any quotation need that conversation; this illustrative sketch is a starting point.

  • Include rooms, approximate dimensions and how the spaces are used.
  • Mention access, permissions and neighbouring properties where relevant.

Choose rooms and add details

Switch on the rooms you are thinking about in the plan sketch, then pick details for each one, such as how it is used, its rough size, any existing unit and any constraint.

Your choices become a short property brief you can copy into the enquiry. Leave anything you do not know blank.

  • Which rooms you want to include.
  • How each room is used.
  • A rough size note, such as small, medium or large.
  • Whether there is an existing unit.
Living room

Add the living room if it is one of the spaces you are considering, and note how it is used during the day.

  • Rough size: small, medium or large.
  • Whether it has large windows or faces the sun.
  • Whether there is an external wall nearby.
Bedroom

Add a bedroom if you want it included. Sleeping spaces often raise questions about noise, so mention any concerns.

  • Rough size and number of bedrooms involved.
  • Whether noise is a concern.
  • Whether there is an external wall nearby.
Kitchen

Add the kitchen if it is part of your plan, and mention how the space is used, as it may have limited wall space.

  • Rough size and whether it is open to another room.
  • Where cupboards or appliances take up wall space.
  • Whether there is an external wall nearby.
Study or home office

Add a study or home office if you want it included, and note how often and for how long the room is used.

  • Rough size of the room.
  • How often it is used and by how many people.
  • Whether any existing unit is already there.

Things that may limit the work

Some factors affect what is possible in a property. Mentioning them early avoids surprises later.

  • Leasehold or landlord permission, if you do not own the freehold.
  • Access to an external wall, and what is on the other side of it.
  • Existing equipment already in the room or on the building.
  • Noise and neighbours close to where equipment might sit.
  • Anything about the building you know to be listed or restricted.

Add what you know about permission, restrictions, external access or nearby neighbours. Leave unknown details blank.
